So Young Issue Twenty-Two
Festival season is drawing to a close and we’ve all fallen in love with a new band or rekindled our relationship with an old favourite. We do both in issue twenty-two as we speak to both The Murder Capital and Girl Band from Dublin. The Murder Capital have released their debut album ‘When I Have Fears’ and we caught up with them at their hometown album release show. Girl Band are back, a band that have inspired guitar music in Ireland and beyond. We catch up with them as they prepare to release their new album ‘The Talkies’. In Chicago, Whitney have just released their second album. We get them on the phone for a chat about being done with cool. Is there a more important label than Speedy Wunderground right now? We sat down with the label to chat about how they work and the shift from singles to EP’s.
Continuing with exciting returns, we speak to Swim Deep, Warmduscher and Jerkcurb about their upcoming releases. Sports Team continue to dominate festival line up’s and it’s been a while since we caught up. Alex Rice called us from Lords to keep us up to date with their Reading Festival plans and talk about the new single. Dry Cleaning are a new name from South London and we sent over a few questions via email to see how they’re dealing with the hype. As ever, ‘Who Are You?’ introduces you to some of our favourite new bands. This time we say hello to Powerplant, High-Vis, Sinead O’Brien, Katy J Pearson, Saint Jude and more.
